Host broadcaster
The host broadcaster will be present at all the informal ministerial meetings and several other major meetings.
The Swedish Presidency’s host broadcaster for television and radio is the Swedish company TV4. The host broadcaster will be present at all the informal ministerial meetings and several other major meetings. TV4 will cooperate closely with the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) throughout the Presidency.
The host broadcaster’s remit covers:
- Production and distribution of pool material
- Production support, for example providing opportunities for editing and links
- Support for accredited television and radio companies on site
- Distribution of material to companies unable to attend
- Booking of parking spaces for broadcasting vehicles
Free resources at the media centre
The media centre will have high-capacity lines that television companies can book free of charge to transmit their material as files to their home countries. ISDN lines will also be available for the radio companies wishing to use them. Throughout the Swedish Presidency, media companies will be able to download material from earlier Swedish meetings.
Free use of all pool material
All pool material produced by the host broadcaster is freely available for use by all media companies. The material is normally distributed as video signals, data files and links. At meetings where there are media booths, sound and image signals will be broadcast on-site.
Special working booths will be available for booking at some of the major meetings. These and other specific services can be booked via the EBU website. The host broadcaster will charge for some of these services.
