Global Expert Meeting on Alcohol
The Swedish Ministry of Health and Social Affairs, in cooperation with the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency and the Norwegian Ministry of Health and Care Services, is organizing a Global Expert Meeting on Alcohol, Health and Social Development. The meeting is co-sponsored by the World Health Organization.
Global Expert Meeting on Alcohol, Health and Social Development
The objective of the meeting is to increase awareness of the impact of the harmful use of alcohol, its social consequences and role in social development, including its impact on the spreading of infectious diseases; such as HIV/AIDS and Tuberculosis from a global perspective.
The meeting will provide a forum for dialogue and exchange of latest available research, knowledge and evidence. An overarching goal of the meeting is to contribute to keeping harmful use of alcohol high on the international health agenda in line with the work done by the World Health Organization.
