The European eGovernment Awards is a European Commission initiative organised every two years. The aim is to encourage good practices and innovative solutions in central government authorities to increase access to public services for businesses and individuals. One of the winners was Angela Russo, Project Manager for the Italian project MEPA which aims at simplifying the procurement process for companies. “We have built a system, but without the help of the users, it would never work”, she said as she accepted the award.
